More Clubs on the Chopping Board?

Andrew Andronikou, Administrator of Portsmouth FC has said they he believes there will be more top flight clubs following Pompey into Administration.

Andronikou, currently trying to establish some form of stability at the south coast outfit, also mentioned that there was a heavy imbalance in income and expenditure at the club that forced them into the red.

He has said, "Yes, I am surprised at the extent of the liability and the extent of the problems.

"I don't believe this will be the last (club to go into administration). I feel there are a lot of problems all over the league.

"At this club particularly there has been a complete imbalance in terms of revenue and overhead costs."

Furthermore, Andronikou has also said that he believes there will be a few ‘surprise’ revelations surroundings the transfer dealings going on at Pompey.

This follows claims that many transfer fees have been exaggerated by the media.

He said: "I am not really any closer to getting to the bottom of that.

"I have looked at one or two transactions. The media is great at sensationalising transfers.

"The larger the fee paid, or the alleged fee, the better the story.

"We will see what comes out in the next few weeks, you might be surprised on some of the transfers that were reported by the press.

"I think the best way forward for clubs is the undisclosed route."

Many people are of the opinion that there have been a few ‘dodgy dealings’ happening at the club.
